Notably within Photo, where we championed the uniqueness of an emotive category and set the course for omni-channel customer growth and engagement. B&Q consumer financial services

The largest DIY chain in the UK asked us to help them launch their new retail credit products. We developed positioning statements for the B&Q You Can Do It Card and Homeplan - a new and innovative credit product for larger DIY projects. We launched in-store via tactical POS and continued to build the brand and customer relationships through ‘Welcome’ stage communications and regular customer magazines.

One of our first road safety campaigns and still among the most successful. Our work with City of York Council eschewed the ‘preaching’ often associated with this type of activity, instead using thought-provoking tactics and an innovative URL to create an engaging intervention for the city’s 14-25-year olds. The Central Office of Information

The Central Office of Information (COI) was the UK government's marketing and communications agency and dR is proud to have been one of the few integrated agencies to be appointed to its regional roster. Among the projects we successfully undertook was a strategy in response to the brief for tackling anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime in the East Riding of Yorkshire region and the design of the accompanying Insight Toolkit.

The EEIBA is a registered charity providing welfare solely for past and present employees of the electrical and electronics industry at large or their dependants in times of hardship and misfortune. Underlay is a hidden and little-considered product that’s not ‘front of mind’ when purchasing a new carpet; dR’s challenge was to change this and eight years on and we’re still doing it! Through innovative creative techniques and clever copywriting, underlay purchasing has been revolutionised with Interfloor’s Tredaire and Duralay brands being the most recognised brands in consumer market and the most in-demand product within the industry.

We showed Investors in People how to completely reposition their brand and their business accreditation tool away from previous HR misconceptions and into a vital and relevant tool for SMEs in the challenging recession. We then took this revitalised brand to the market, creating several multi-channel, data-driven lead generation campaigns (TM, press, search, email) that managed the delivery of leads into their UK delivery centres.

At one time, the world’s biggest independent credit card issuer, MBNA frequently targeted their credit card customers with pre-approved offers of personal loans. Our design challenger outperformed their banker, leading to work on statement inserts and prospect loan packs.

Bradford-based Provident are the market leaders in home-collected credit, making smaller loans available (via their network of agents) to customers who struggle to obtain conventional high-street loans. Our involvement included all creative, data, print and fulfilment aspects of fast-turnaround ‘data to doormat’ bulk customer mailings through to segmentation development to bring more relevance and sophistication across its seven-figure mailing file.

West of England Road Safety Partnership

Representing an 18-25 population of c.500k in the West of England, WoERSP challenged dR to affect behavioural change in an audience who didn’t want to listen to road safety messaging, and do it without resorting to the overused shock tactics of conventional campaigns. This was more-than achieved, through a combination of innovative thinking coupled with fake events, unbelievable apps, social marketing and viral content – all delivered by a unique spokesperson.
